Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Peachi collects, why, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have. Peachi is operated by Josiah Pernell (the developer of Peachi). We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, or the private relay email Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple, or your Google account email (and name, if Google shares it) if you sign in with Google. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
- Profile and goals: an optional first name, units, fitness goals, experience level, training days, workout setting, food preferences and notes.
- Weight goal: your starting weight, goal weight and goal date, and weigh-ins you log on the Progress tab.
- Food and nutrition: foods and meals you log (names, amounts, calories and macros), water, nutrition targets, saved recipes (including text or links you import), and grocery lists.
- Workouts: sessions, exercises, sets, reps and weights you log, and your progress in challenges.
- Photos: meal photos you scan (a small private copy is saved with the meal) and progress photos you choose to add.
Height, age and sex entered during setup are used on your device to calculate your plan. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, Peachi reads your weight, height, date of birth, biological sex, steps, active energy, walking and cycling distance, exercise minutes, flights climbed, heart rate during workouts, workouts (such as runs, rides and classes) and their GPS routes, and writes the meals, weights and Peachi workouts you log. You choose exactly which types to share in Apple’s permission screen and can change this anytime in the Health app.
Health data is used only to provide app features (filling in your plan, showing your activity and workouts, keeping Health up to date). Activity, heart-rate and workout data from Health, including the maps of your workout routes, is shown on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers. If you fill in your plan from Apple Health, your weight is saved as your starting weigh-in, like a weight you typed in. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with data brokers or the AI provider.
How we use AI
Peachi uses AI to estimate the foods and nutrition in meal photos and to read recipes you import. When you use these features, the photo or recipe text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the estimate.
- Only the content needed for that request is sent (the photo or recipe text). Your name, email and Health data are not included.
- The full-size image is processed in memory and not stored on our servers; a small thumbnail is kept with your meal so you can see it in your log.
- Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms, which don’t allow it to train models on our users’ content. It may keep requests for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.
- AI results are estimates. Always review and adjust them.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run Peachi. They may only use your data to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: hosting, database, sign-in and private photo storage (servers in Canada).
- Anthropic: AI analysis of meal photos and imported recipes, as described above.
- RevenueCat and Apple: subscription purchases and status. RevenueCat receives your account ID and purchase details, but no payment card information.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and Apple Health, if you choose to use them.
- Google: Sign in with Google, if you choose to use it. Google confirms who you are; we don’t get access to anything else in your Google account.
- Email delivery: sign-in and verification codes are sent to your email through Resend, our email provider.
- Sentry: if the app or our servers crash, a crash report is sent so we can fix the problem. It includes the error, the app and iOS version and the device model. It doesn’t include your name, email, account ID, meals, photos or Health data, and emails or long numbers in error messages are removed before sending.
- USDA FoodData Central and fatsecret: food search terms are sent from our servers to look up nutrition data. No personal information is included.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of users or the service. If Peachi is ever sold or merged, this policy will continue to apply to your data.
The shared food database
Peachi keeps a shared database of branded foods so everyone can find products like energy drinks, coffees and restaurant items. When you scan or add a branded product (or read a nutrition label), its brand, product name, serving size and nutrition numbers are added to it, or counted as one more confirmation of an existing entry.
- Only those food facts are shared. Your photo, your account, your other logs and anything about you are never included, and the database never shows who added an entry.
- We keep a private record linking your account to entries you confirmed, so each person counts once and abuse can be removed. It is deleted with your account.
- You can turn this off anytime in Settings → Privacy & data → Share products I scan.
What we don’t do
- No selling or renting of personal data.
- No advertising SDKs, ad targeting or cross-app tracking.
- No third-party analytics that receive your food, body or health information.
Security
Your data is protected in transit with encryption (HTTPS) and stored in a database where access rules ensure each account can only read and change its own data. Photos are kept in private storage and shown through short-lived links. AI and food-search keys live only on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete individual entries and photos at any time; deleted photos are removed from storage.
You can delete your account in Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, logs, recipes, photos and all related data right away. Copies in routine backups are removed within 30 days. Subscription records held by Apple are managed by Apple.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: Settings → Privacy & data → Export creates a copy of your data.
- Correction: edit any entry, goal or target in the app.
- Deletion: delete entries, photos, or your whole account in the app.
- Permissions: turn off camera, photos or Apple Health access anytime in iOS Settings or the Health app.
- Shared food database: turn off “Share products I scan” in Settings → Privacy & data.
Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, such as to know what we collect or to object to certain processing. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email jay@flytstudios.com. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Age requirement
Peachi is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app before they take effect.
